QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS -
Q: What does it take to develop a Logo?
A: For me, a computer and peace and quiet. Seriously, several conversations between the customer and I to gather a sense of what they are looking for. Also, I spend many hours to come up with the initial customer sample. In other words, I may spend up to 48 hours trying to get an idea started before I am actually ready to design.
Q: Why is it expensive to simply draw a logo on the computer?
A: Well, something has to pay the bills....I can spend up to 48 hours preparing, adjusting, and perfecting a logo before its ready for the customer to see the first proof. In order for you to use that logo on any project, it has to be what is considered camera ready. This takes time, and my time is important as is yours. Therefore you should expect that a more complicated design isn't going to be ready in 10 minutes. Along with the design, I must take in consideration what it will be used for. How will it be displayed? Too many factors to list, but it is the reason that logo designs can be rather pricey. Consider it an important expense.
Q: What is the process involved with producing a Career St. Print?
A: Initially I must gather the customer's information such as duty stations, family members and general information relevant to their career. I then move it over to my computer where I will start literally building "buildings", adding details and constructing the initial layout of their Career St. Once I have it as they have requested, I will send off a proof to the customer and wait on their response regarding the proof. If all is OK, I then send the large format file to the printers. I will receive the print within 3-5 days. At that point, if they ordered the full framing package, I bring it to my selected framing business for stretching and framing. Once it all has been completed the print will go into the mail. Each process takes time, for review and general appearance. Hey it took you probably 20 years or so to complete your career - you wouldn't expect me to go through it in a day or so. Trust me -
Q: Do you do Programs for events?
A: Absolutely - Throw it at me and I will package them up, fold them and sit in your audience if you want me to.
